Bambi turns up for framing regularly; sometimes a stitchwork, a print, a watercolour. This time a print on canvas. An unobstrusive ash frame so as not to detact from all that’s going on in the scene. Antique white mount and glass to complete
This framing work was large….top to bottom 1450mm and some 720mm wide. The difficulty in framing was that the item was hand-made paper (from Laos) about 3mm thick!
It had no willingness to go flat; it was heavy, it was a long way out of being a rectangle.
The frame we used is Oak with a deep rebate and that accomodated the undulating nature of the work. In the photograph, the white ‘tracers’ are reflections from light in the facing window, not a blemish in the work.
We are going to have a week off…
We shall be closed from 1:00 Saturday 24th August until
re-open 09:00 on Tuesday September 3rd
Enquiries in that period to: firstname.lastname@example.org (expect some delay in reply)
Change of direction for us this week. With a wedding coming up next Saturday 20th we were asked to make some feature pillars on which to place two vases of flowers. Mainly we have made ’empty’ picture frames for both the top and bottom as you can see.
The actual pillar section is composed of four lengths of rainwater downpipe held together with clear silicone. We are pleased with the result and hope the couple will be too. With vases of flowers atop each one there may be the call for more photos.
